Today on the podcast we're talking about living more deliberately.

 

My guest is David Frizzell, the host of Team Guru podcast. Having been a guest a couple of times on his podcast it is so great to have David sitting in the guest seat on this episode. With over 200 interviews under his belt on that podcast alone I wanted to know if there was anything that connected the interviews he has conducted. His response was that every episode could be connected through this theme of living more deliberately. I give him a call to explore what he's learned and just how we can live life with a little bit more intention.

 

David Frizzell is a team, leadership, communication and change consultant. He has worked with a bunch of different organisations, across a range of industries.

David is the host of The Team Guru Podcast. Since 2015, the podcast has grown from a couple of hundred listeners to more than 20 thousand per episode. David pretends that he does the podcast for the sake of his listeners - but really he does it to quench his own, selfish thirst for new ideas.

The work he has done developing leaders and advising on change across large programs - from state government to multinationals - together with the ideas he steals from his podcast guests, has turned David into an opinionated bore.

In September 2019 David swam the English Channel. He will tell anyone, in detail, all about it. Even if they don’t look interested.

David lives in Brisbane with his wife and 3 children. The Frizzell family do not have a dog (or a cat).

Today on the podcast we're talking about creativity.

 

Many people think that creativity is reserved for a few brilliant people. My guest on the podcast today is author Tim Duggan and he says that everyone is creative, and in his words "stuff anyone who says otherwise!"

 

At the time of recording Tim was in a small island in the Greek Islands and we took some time to have a chat all about creativity and the future of work.

 

Tim is an author and new media entrepreneur. He has co-founded several digital media ventures, most notably Junkee Media, one of the leading publishers for Australian millennials that was acquired by ASX-listed oOh!media. Under his leadership, Junkee’s content agency ran the social media accounts for leading brands like Netflix, ANZ, American Express, Westpac and more. Tim’s first book, Cult Status: How to Build a Business People Adore, was named the Best Entrepreneurship Book at the 2021 Australian Business Book Awards. His second book, Killer Thinking: How to Turn Good Ideas into Brilliant Ones, explores creativity in the workplace. Tim is the Chairman of the Digital Publishers Alliance, an industry body that represents over a hundred titles from leading independent digital publishers, and is currently writing his third book on the future of work.

Cam is a remarkable young entrepreneur that I have had the privilege of knowing for the last 6 or so years. Cam Greenwood is the co-founder (alongside his wife, Elise) and chief pioneer of Zorali. If you've ever had any time standing in front of a camera, you can probably relate to those moments when the red light goes on, and your mind goes blank. And when the words finally do come out, you can't help but feel robotic or awkward.

 

Today I'm speaking with Mo MacRae, who is an expert in helping people develop their on-camera presence, and he says that now more than ever, how you show up on camera is how you are seen in the world. I give him a call to get some of the inside tips for connecting more authentically down the barrel of a camera.

 

Mo MacRae is one of Australia's most in demand commercial directors, with over 25 years experience in advertising and film production.

We’re kicking off season 05 with a bang with the incredible Kim Kaupe joining me to talk about showing up more intentionally online.

Kim told me that people can NO you before they KNOW you because of how we show up online. I give her a call to talk about what we need to know about positioning ourselves in this globally connected society we live in.

In January 2020 at age 34 Kim kicked off a tour with Oprah while juggling clients like Paul McCartney, The NY Mets, Ace Comic Con & Shawn Mendes. In those 9 years she learned how to go from zero clients to Oprah, no one knowing who she was to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and not knowing what an LLC was to securing offers from 4 out of 5 sharks on Shark Tank.
